Drone killings only without Hate speech!

By Mathias Bröckers.

The esteemed senior correspondent and Gonzo columnist of the “Asia Times”, Pepe Escobar, recently told 30 years of history in one minute on Facebook:

„Eric Hobsbawm showed us how the short 21st century ended with the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 and the end of the USSR in 1991.

Then came the unipolar moment – under the sign of that pathetic, neo-Hegelian “end of history”.

Yet a new enemy was needed – for the purposes of the never-dismantled War Party. Enter the “Muslim terrorist” galaxy.

While the Hegemon unfolded the global war on terror (GWOT), bombing, invading and looting, China – “crossing the river while feeling the stones” (Deng) – was getting ready to lead.

The 2008 financial crisis shattered capitalism to the core. Predictably though, the option was made to privilege Virtual Capital instead of Real Life.

The Hegemon was already being contested – even as the axis of the world economy was already starting to point towards Asia.

Already in 1997, a few days before the Hong Kong handover, I had published a book called “21st: the Asian Century”. We were very few to say so at the time.

Later came the fabulous Arrighi-Wallerstein debate, where Arrighi stated, way before the pack, how China would prevail.

The 2008 crisis never ended. And it was about to explode again in 2020. It actually did.

Now it’s clear: the enemy to fear is Asia – specifically China. The arrival of an invisible enemy was packaged as the perfect metaphor: the “Chinese virus”.

History won’t stop though. The 21st will be not only the Asian but the Eurasian Century. Multipolar, interdisciplinary, anti-war – and counter-hegemonic.“

I think that’s a good overview of the situation, or rather how the current position in geopolitical chess has been historically determined. And to the increasingly loud proclamation in the transatlantic West of the new great enemy China and the demonization of the communist party. Corona came at just the right time. The lockdown inevitably led to economic decline, and a scapegoat is needed more than ever. And it must be a dangerous scapegoat against which we must continue to arm ourselves, otherwise someone might end up having the idea of touching the equally huge and untouchable arms budgets. In the US empire’s show election campaign we can therefore expect the foreign policy pissing contest to be about who is the loudest “Tough On China”. Domestically, on the other hand, it will be about racism, Black Lives Matter and the police – the last trump card that the Democrats have up their sleeves against Trump and therefore express understanding not only for the protests, but even for the violent riots in many cities. But after the fake news circus of Russiagate about Ukrainegate and Impeachment, which the Democratic Party and its media organized against Trump, this shot could backfire as well. Trump’s strategy consultant Steve Bannon had already expressed his delight in 2017:

“The longer they talk about identity politics, I got ’em. I want them to talk about racism every day. If the left is focused on race and identity, and we go with economic nationalism, we can crush the Democrats.”

Because the economy is unlikely to go well because of the lockdown and depression, Bannon now recommends that the campaign focus more on foreign policy and the “gangsters” of the Chinese Communist Party. Because of Corona and to bring “freedom and democracy” to China.

Since the Democrats have noticed that their candidate Joe Biden, who as Vice President has not only arranged lucrative business for his son in Ukraine but also in China, cannot stand up to Trump’s China bashing, they have now quickly ignited a new Russiagate smoke candle. The New York Times claims that “Russians” are paying a “bounty” to the Taliban in Afghanistan for killed US soldiers… a great story, but one that relies solely on anonymous intelligence sources – and without answering the obvious question of when it became necessary to pay Afghans to shoot the occupying forces that have besieged their country for 20 years? As “proof” of the loot payments, a large amount of money is cited, which was discovered and confiscated in a Taliban camp. With Putin’s fingerprints … one might believe when listening to the crazy moderator Rachel Meadows on the US mainstream channel MSNBC. But as usual in the Russiagate circus everything is just hot propaganda air – but Trump, who actually wants to withdraw the troops from Afghanistan, is said to have known about it and done nothing about it, … because of Putin, who is supposed to secure him the 2020 election after 2016. One could think that such a crude conspiracy theory is no longer taken seriously by anyone, but it has also been instilled into the brains of left-wing liberals and progressives in the USA for years in such a way that it still has an effect – the main thing is that it goes against the “fascist clown” in orange. But by no means against the 20 years lasting war in Afghanistan, or against the biggest opium,- and heroin production of all times, which runs there under CIA supervision. Issues that any real “resistance”, any opposition to the US government would have to take up.

But none of that… instead: Protests against racism, attacks on monuments of the old white men: in Boston Christopher Columbus is beheaded, in Oregon George Washington’s statue is burned, founding father Thomas Jefferson was also killed and in San Francisco General Ulysses Grant is overthrown, although he had actually fought against the South and slavery. Anyway… the confused rebels, who call themselves “woke” – awakened -, don’t take it too seriously in the heat of the revolutionary struggle. In Golden Gate Park they even smeared the monument of Miguel de Cervantes: a European face with two figures kneeling in front of it can only be a racist “bastard”. The fact that it is Don Quixote and Sancho Panza who are paying homage to their literary creator there, the “inventor” of the modern novel, who himself had to live for five years in slavery after being kidnapped by Ottoman pirates – a gift! Anything against racism – and against Trump, the chief racist…

Whoever shouts WTF is already on thin ice to be accused of racism. Beyond rioting and iconoclasm, US talk shows are currently going up and down about the bestseller “White Fragility: Why It’s So Hard for White People to Talk About Racism” – a book by consultant Robin di Angelo, of which “Rolling Stone” reporter Matt Taibbi writes that it is:

“isn’t the first person to make a buck pushing tricked-up pseudo-intellectual horseshit as corporate wisdom, but she might be the first to do it selling Hitlerian race theory. White Fragility has a simple message: there is no such thing as a universal human experience, and we are defined not by our individual personalities or moral choices, but only by our racial category.”

Racism, the author says in an interview, is “an internalized attitude that is inherent in every white person.” ….and we don’t even want to know what’s in every Jew, Chinese or “Negro”, … …but as a precautionary measure, ban Mark Twain’s classic “Huckleberry Finn” from schools because of the use of the “N” word…

Along such lines of identity runs the protest discourse, the Cultural Revolution, which has supposedly got underway – and which will change nothing, nothing, nada of the existing conditions. Why am I so sure of this? Because a revolution that is being talked about on CNN, MSNBC, the New York Times and the Washington Post cannot be one. And the humiliated and insulted will let themselves be pulled in front of the “racism” carts and turn on each other, instead of working together against the 0.1% who control the country. For it is not former slave owners like Washington, Jefferson or the white founding fathers who are the problem, but neo-feudal lords like Jeff Bezos, Warren Buffet, George Soros or Bill Gates. The fact that they have donated a hundred million dollars to “Black Lives Matters” guarantees that this anti-racist rebellion will not under any circumstances call their business model into question. They would probably even have the Statue of Liberty blown up, because the “freedom” it proclaims was created by the Holocaust of the indigenous population. They would also kneel down, out of solidarity and for the guilt that the nation is carrying – the main thing is no health insurance, no free education and certainly no disarmament and end of wars everywhere.

Instead: marching orders only with gender asterisks, military conquests only in politically correct transgender uniforms and drone killings please without Hate speech
