Russophobia – a very profitable business

By Wolfgang Schacht.

The year 2020 started out very brightly from a meteorological point of view, but the political and ideological struggle continues unabated. The Russians follow the experiences of their thousand-year history and cross themselves when this year is mentioned, because 2020 is a so-called leap year (високосный год), a year in which the alignment with the solar calendar is done by an additional day in February. Is this a bad sign for the current year? We do not know! And that is a good thing! Because hope always dies last!

On 3 January this year, the Iranian General Qasem Soleimani, the leader of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard (Quds Brigades) was killed by American rockets and bombs at the airfield in Baghdad (Iraq). The order was given by the President of the USA, Donald Trump. The remote-controlled drone killed 8 people, more than 10 people were injured. The apparent murder of the leader of the Islamic revolution shows us that the USA is always ready and able to define any organization as terrorist and to liquidate its uncomfortable leaders.

We remember that the USA declared the corpus of the fighters of the Islamic Revolution as a terrorist organization as early as April 16, 2019. Using the same method, they could also eliminate the Russian or German intelligence agencies if anything did not suit them.

In view of the unprecedented ranting tirades of the German media about Iran, it is extremely difficult for German citizens to keep a clear view of the events taking place there and in the entire Arab world. In this context, it is good to know that Russia, whose uncompromising approach to the fight against terrorism is beyond question, has never classified the Revolutionary Guard and its general, Qasem Soleimani, as a terrorist organisation or terrorist leader.

Every year on 27 January we remember with great gratitude the day when the Soviet army liberated the Auschwitz concentration camp. In Auschwitz, Nazi Germany murdered more than 4 million men, women and children in its racial madness. According to current research, 40% of them were citizens of the Soviet Union. The concentration camp Auschwitz – epitome of the Holocaust (murder of more than 6 million Jews in the Nazi camps) – will always remain a synonym for the 1,650 concentration camps where 11 million people were cruelly murdered by the Nazis and their collaborators solely on the basis of their race, faith, nationality, political and ideological views, … their state of health. Already on March 21, 1933 Heinrich Himmler, then police chief of Munich, gave the order to establish the 1st concentration camp in Dachau.

On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp by the Soviet army, the 5th World Holocaust Forum was held in Israel on 23 January 2020. With their participation and speeches, more than 40 heads of state and government took a stand against a resurgence of anti-Semitism. During the Forum, the official unveiling of a monument to the heroic defenders of Leningrad (from 8 September 1941 to 27 January 1944) and in eternal memory of the many victims took place. Russian President Vladimir Putin, his Israeli counterpart Reuven Rivlin and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu paid tribute to the unprecedented steadfastness, heroic resistance and great sacrifice of the Leningraders in the fight against the fascist monster. All attempts to question the truth about the rumoured victory of the Soviet Union and the results of the Second World War are therefore condemned to failure.

This important meeting of the representatives of about 50 countries was overshadowed by the extremely strange behaviour and statements of

• the new Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Selenskyj, who travelled to the Forum but made his place and the places for his delegation “generously” available to anyone who wished to attend, and

• of the Polish President, Andrzej Duda, who wrote „The truth about the Holocaust must not die. It must not be distorted or used for any purpose. In the name of sacred memory of the annihilation of the Jews and out of respect for other victims of the 20th century totalitarianism – we cannot, and we shall not condone it. We will not cease in our efforts to make the world remember this crime. So that nothing of the kind would ever happen again(..)We must also not forget that the last, decisive step leading towards World War II, the war without which there would have been no tragedy of the Holocaust, was the secret pact between Hitler and Stalin of August 23, 1939.“

The arguments against the statements of Andrzej Dudas, his colleagues in the Baltic States and Ukraine are trivial and easy to understand. However, the problem is not the right or wrong presentation of historical facts, but the “West’s” position on the guilt of World War II, which was agreed between Washington and London as early as 1947. The decisive basic idea of this position is the thesis that both Germany and the Soviet Union are equally to blame for the emergence of the Second World War.

Since Germany no longer existed as an independent and sovereign state in 1947, it was purely by chance that of all the active actors in the war, only the Soviet Union remained. Adolf Hitler had shot himself, some of his helpers were hanged in Nuremberg. The main culprits of the Second World War were therefore Stalin, Moscow, the Kremlin and the Soviet people. So with just a few brushstrokes the main victim was declared the main culprit of the most terrible and cruel war of all times.

With the support of the “West” and Poland, Austria was annexed to the German Reich in 1938. Broken German tanks blocked all roads to Vienna at that time. In the years 1934 to 1938 Hitler did not yet prepare for war. Only in April 1939 – the balance of power in Europe had changed dramatically – Hitler gave the order to draw up Plan “Weiß” (attack on Poland). Up to this point, the Poles agreed with all of Hitler’s actions. Warsaw had many advantages.

After the annexation of Austria to Germany they tried to annex Lithuania, for example, in the spring of 1938. Only after serious talks with the Polish ambassador in Moscow was it possible to dissuade them. When the Czechs, under pressure from London and Paris, signed the “Munich Agreement” in September 1938, on the basis of which large areas of Czechoslovakia were annexed by Hitler’s Germany, Poland issued an unprecedented ultimatum to the government in Prague: immediate handover of the territory of Cieszyn to Poland or war – 24 hours for consideration! The Czechs were forced to agree to the Polish occupation (4)

But this does not end the strange statements of the Polish President, Andrzej Duda, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp. In diametrical contrast to our own experiences, the Soviet Union did not liberate the country of Poland from fascism, but “occupied” it with the invasion of Soviet troops. The “occupation” lasted until the fall of the communist regime in 1989.

We are speechless! For whom and for what did more than 600,000 Soviet soldiers and officers die in Poland in the fight against the German fascists? Did they sacrifice their most valuable asset – their lives – so that a Mr Andrzej Dudas could insult and humiliate them as occupiers and oppressors in 2020?

After the Polish “Law and Justice” party took power in 2015, a real war against all Soviet and Russian monuments in Poland began. This war is being waged by the ruling politicians, not by the Polish people. The purposeful removal and destruction of monuments dedicated to the brave Soviet soldiers and officers as liberators of Poland has reached unimaginable proportions.
Of the approximately 600 Soviet monuments (as of 1989), there are perhaps 100 or even fewer left. The destruction of Soviet monuments in Poland and in many other countries of the former Soviet Union, in the former socialist countries (GDR, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria) is both frightening and depressing.

The aim of the American establishment is to divide the world of the Slavic peoples into many hostile groups, to set them against each other by every conceivable means, to eradicate one another, to rob them of their deeply rooted morals, ethics and their strong sense of social justice, to destroy their strong compassion and great solidarity with other peoples and cultures through the massive spread of selfishness, resentment and hatred, to brutalize and deform their language and culture.

It is only for this reason that our ideological enemies are doing everything they can to erase in our minds the memories of the heroic and sacrificial struggle of the Soviet soldiers in liberating Europe from fascism, to portray Stalin as the greatest criminal of all time, who must be put on the same level as Hitler in order to generally question the victory of the Soviet Union in the Great Patriotic War.

The establishment needs a rebirth of extreme right-wing forces to further secure its profits, because – so we hear and read to our great astonishment – “… the followers of Hitler and Bandera were not so bad, they fought very successfully against the Russian subhumans and communists at that time!”

(For all those who cannot remember or have already forgotten to what extent the “evil communists and sub-humans” of the USSR helped the country of Poland generously and gratuitously in 1944/1945 with the reconstruction, we recommend the page with original documents (in Russian)) (5).

Always remember: Who has no history, has no future! Many citizens of the former GDR can prove this to you exactly by many concrete examples! The anti-Soviet hysteria has developed worldwide into a real Russophobia, the hysteria against the GDR – into a GDR-phobia! Both diseases are obviously a very profitable business for many people in “our” global world.
