On Saturday, 25 April 2020, over 1,000 people gathered once again in Berlin at Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz to peacefully defend the Basic Law for the Federal Republic of Germany in times of the German measures against the coronavirus. The demonstrators exercised their right to Freedom of peaceful assembly. The police tried to enforce the new measures decided by the state to restrict civil rights.
The result consists of bizarre images and scenes that reveal the absurdity of the imposed “containment order”.
The country’s police officers must ask themselves: When is the limit of obedience reached? How far am I willing to go to enforce the measures of the state? What would happen if a firing order were issued against people who disagree with the Corona measures because they feel that fundamental rights are being violated? When will insubordination also – and especially – become a duty of the police?
